Coordinator, Citizen Scholars Program & Undergraduate Student Affairs
Office: 200 Linton Hall
My name is Sarah Whitaker and I am the Coordinator of the Citizen Scholars program. Born and raised in Jackson, Mich., I have a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with minors in European Studies and Italian from the University of Notre Dame, and a master’s degree in Global Studies in Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my undergraduate career, I studied abroad in London for an academic year, completed an internship with a Member of Parliament in the UK House of Commons, and participated in local and international community engagement initiatives. Since then, I’ve worked in nonprofit management, program administration, and student advising in New York City, Indianapolis, and Lexington, Ky. I love books, Broadway musicals, and Lake Michigan, and am on a quest to find the best bagel here in the Midwest — suggestions welcome!
I am here to help you take advantage of the many opportunities and resources available to you as CAL students and aspiring Citizen Scholars. Connect with me if you want to chat about study abroad, undergraduate research, internships, community engagement, professional development, academic success, or anything else.
