Dear Incoming Citizen Scholars,

We are the intern team with the Citizen Scholars program. We wanted to extend a sincere welcome from all of us. We are so happy to join you on your college journey. The administration, interns, and faculty are here for whatever you may need while you are here.

Your first semester will be nontraditional, that we know for sure. Certainly, your fears for the new semester are valid and many people in the community share your feelings. Although this semester will be different than any other, our fears in coming to college are alike in some ways. We all were scared of how our professors would teach, scared of not making friends, and so much more.

This, for us, is where Citizen Scholars steps in. We believe that now more than ever, it is essential to be a Citizen Scholar. This program takes what you care about and helps you find a way to maximize potential. Essentially, it takes the idea of “Spartans Will” and gives you a path to change your world and supportive people to help others along the way.

In addition, you will find a community of caring people here at MSU. Faculty members are always willing to help you on your courses through the program. The administration and interns are prepared to help guide you while offering suggestions and different points of view. Finally, you have your fellow Spartan students, both in your cohort and outside of it, there to support you as you grow and learn together.

We are so excited to have you on this journey with us! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Go Green,

Rebecca, Walker, Hayden, and Alia
