This past month, Citizen Scholars were introduced to an exciting partnership between the Citizen Scholars program and the Broad Art Museum. “Who is a Citizen?” is an exhibit that presents thought-provoking art through a variety of genres and mediums. According to the Broad website, “The exhibition offers responses to the evolving notion of citizenship, and expresses varied experiences of civic belonging in critical, personal, and politically resonant ways. The artists tell often-unheard stories and make visible structural barriers and injustices.”
Citizen Scholars can share their own perspectives through music, writing, drawings, poetry, or any medium they choose. Students will receive prompts and submit “Citizen Responses.” These will eventually be displayed in the museum so that students can share their creations with the world. Students will also have the ability to talk to the artists featured in the exhibit.
In order to participate, students can register here! We are so excited to have this exclusive partnership with the Broad. Stay tuned to the blog to see what students will create!
