  1. McLaren Hospice

McLaren Hospice is looking for empathetic individuals who are looking to make a difference in the lives of those with advanced illness. Some of the services would include reading, writing, listening, and helping the family with various tasks like cooking and cleaning.

  1. St. Vincent Catholic Charities Refugee Services

St. Vincent Catholic Charities Refugee Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping refugees through the resettlement process. They provide refugees with housing, schooling, support, and much more. As a volunteer, you could help out the staff and refugees through tutoring and doing basic things like grocery shopping or riding the bus to help them better adjust to American culture.

  1. The MSU Center for Survivors 

The MSU Center for Survivors is dedicated to helping survivors of sexual assault and violence through counseling, advocacy, and support. The MSU Center for Survivors has several volunteer opportunities available including, 24-hour crisis hotline, Crisis Chat, Peer education and outreach, and Medical Advocacy at the MSU Sexual Assault Healthcare Program. Training is required for some positions, but will ultimately help you develop new skills and reduce overall campus violence.

  1. Hannah’s House

Hannah’s House works hard to provide food, shelter, counseling, and training to women in a crisis pregnancy. Volunteers here can expect to help with teaching, sorting donations, fundraising, and much more.

  1. Haven House 

Haven House provides emergency housing, crisis counseling, and basic needs such as shelter, food, clothing, and more to families who are homeless. They also provide guidance and training that lasts the families a lifetime.
